Celebrity provides in the United Kingdom spoon to gossip rags

The stars were featured in the gossip magazine Britain’s has a large say in what will be printed on them. Editor of the British hotgossip magazines, OK!and Hello! all admit to working with celebrities for most of the coverage.

This collaborative approach was revealed during Wednesday’s media ethics investigations in Leveson United Kingdom, which was requested by the phone News of the World hacking scandal exposed last summer.

Giving evidence, Rosie Nixon, editor Hello! says about 70 percent of their content is approved in advance by celebrity, while Lucy Byrne, editor OK! says that number is closer to 80 percent.

In Canada it is hard to measure that way, said a spokesman for Suneel Khanna Hello!The Magazine Canada .

“We’re respectful when it comes to our celebrity coverage,” he said. He explains maintaining good relationships with celebrities helping magazines get access to exclusive stories that they run.
