The group, which has been online Kickstarter.com dubs itself as “the world’s largest funding platform for creative projects.”
The goal is to raise $ 1,000 to offset some costs put Tony Award-winning Spring Awakening in April.
The way Kickstarter works is AKT choose different levels of donations and give the “gift” to the people who promise that amount.
For example, people who pledge $ 5 and receive a special “thank you” printed in the Spring Awakening program and e-mail updates on the progress of the show, including photos and cast/crew commentary.
People who pledge $ 100 receive the above amenities, along with a personal note “thank you”, a special recognition page Facebook, and two tickets to opening night.
